PIP Canada’s history traces back to 2008, when industry veteran Claude Roberge founded Dynamic Safety in Laval, QC. Protective Industrial Products, known globally as PIP Global Safety and founded in 1984 by Joe Milot and Wellson Tao, had been building its own Canadian presence since 2003. The two companies joined forces in 2020 to form the current PIP Canada, pairing local manufacturing with the scale of a global parent company.
Investment in Canadian manufacturing
Since 2020, PIP Canada has invested more than one million dollars in robotics and plant modernization, opened a Western distribution centre in Edmonton, and implemented a modern ERP system. The company’s Laval plant has recorded more than 1,200 days without an injury, and with capacity to produce up to 3.5 million hard hats annually, making it one of the largest PPE manufacturing operations in the country.
A head-to-toe product line for Canadian industry
PIP Canada serves industrial distributors and the safety professionals and end users they support across construction, manufacturing, automotive and metal fabrication, mining, oil and gas, transportation, electrical, welding, food safety, controlled environments, and roadwork. The company says its Canadian manufacturing base allows for shorter lead times, in-region inventory, and direct manufacturer support without the import tariffs or delays associated with offshore supply.
Engineering for fit and inclusion
PIP Canada highlights products including the PIP RZRBack safety helmet, which the company describes as the first CSA-certified safety helmet built with MIPS rotational-impact protection and designed and manufactured entirely in Canada, alongside G-Tek Paradox cut-resistant gloves and Bisley premium workwear line.
In select categories such as hand protection, eyewear and workwear, the company also offers options engineered to fit women properly rather than resizing men’s patterns. It has further expanded its in-Canada portfolio through the acquisition of Honeywell’s PPE division, adding renowned brands including Miller, North, and Howard Leight.
Product overview
The PIP® RZRBack™ is a next-generation CSA Type 2 safety helmet, fully designed and manufactured in Canada. It is the first CSA-certified safety helmet available with the MIPS® brain-protection system, engineered to help reduce rotational forces from angled impacts. Lightweight and comfortable enough for all-day wear, the RZRBack™ reflects PIP Canada’s commitment to protecting workers with locally made, standards-leading head protection.
Key features and capabilities
First CSA-certified safety helmet available with the MIPS® rotational-impact protection system
Lightweight design with an EPS foam liner and air channels that increase airflow and comfort, even in unvented models
Hypoallergenic viscose-from-bamboo sweatband and head pad that’s naturally cooling, moisture-wicking, and breathable
Dyna-Clic™ magnetic chin-strap closure keeps the helmet securely in place
Full line of custom accessories, including a patent-pending removable full brim
Optional integrated tag providing immediate access to a worker’s digital Medical ID and essential health information
Fully designed and manufactured in Canada
Integrations
The RZRBack™ works with a full range of PIP®, Dynamic™ and Traverse™ accessories, including the patent-pending removable full brim, so it can be adapted to different tasks and environments. It integrates the MIPS® brain-protection system to help address rotational impact forces, and can be equipped with the Quin™ tag, which gives first responders immediate access to a worker’s digital Medical ID and essential health information.
The RZRBack™ combines a hard outer shell with an EPS foam liner and, in MIPS®-equipped models, a low-friction layer that allows the helmet to move slightly relative to the head during an angled impact, helping to redirect rotational energy away from the wearer. Air channels in the liner promote ventilation for comfort, while the Dyna-Clic™ magnetic chin strap and adjustable suspension keep the helmet correctly positioned so it can perform as designed.
How the product works
After-sales and customer services
PIP Canada backs the RZRBack™ with direct manufacturer support, Canadian-based customer experience and technical teams, in-region inventory for fast delivery, custom logo and personalization services, and field specialists who provide on-site product selection and fit guidance. Technical data sheets are available 24/7 on our website.
