Samantha Twynam is the National HSE Manager for Dexterra Group, where she oversees health, safety and environmental programs across a diverse portfolio of client sites in North America. A Canadian Registered Safety Professional, she leads strategic initiatives that enhance regulatory compliance, elevate hazard recognition, and builds a strong culture of safety ownership at all levels of the organization.
She has been instrumental within the team at enhancing Dexterra’s “Don’t Walk By” hazard recognition approach and played a key role in launching the organization’s first “Don’t Walk By Week.” Her efforts have driven a 58% increase in employee participation in hazard reporting since 2023, contributing to a measurable reduction in workplace incidents. These programs reflect a strong focus on engagement and continuous improvement, always centred on the needs of operators and employees.
Beyond her operational leadership, Samantha champions diversity and development as an active member of the Women in Leadership Network, where she moderated the network’s inaugural panel event. She also serves as co-chair of the Commercial Industrial Services Advisory Committee with Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS) and participates in the Toronto Pearson Safety Leadership Committee.
Currently collaborating with the Centre of Research Expertise for the Prevention of Musculoskeletal Disorders (CRE-MSD) on Musculokeletal disorder prevention research and leading outreach for Toronto’s Steps for Life Walk, Samantha exemplifies safety, advocacy, and industry leadership.
