May Bchouti has been a driving force at Empire Roofing Corporation since 1994. Armed with an MBA from the University of Windsor, she has grown from financial controller to her current dual role as chief financial officer and safety director – demonstrating that financial performance and employee well-being go hand in hand.
As CFO, Bchouti leads budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning, helping guide Empire’s growth from a local contractor to a national leader. As safety director, she champions a culture where every precaution matters. She is the visionary behind Empire’s annual “Safety Fest,” during which operations pause across all locations for hands-on training and engagement – all to reinforce one core goal: ensuring every crew member returns home safely.
Bchouti also holds a diploma in educational leadership from Harvard University, further strengthening her ability to blend operational excellence with people-first leadership. Known for her warmth and mentorship, she actively encourages women to pursue careers in roofing, emphasizing confidence, knowledge, and resilience.

A significant part of his focus today is staying ahead of regulatory change while maintaining a seamless client experience. He tracks updates from regulators and lenders closely and works with his teams to adjust systems as needed.
“My approach to my role and my career has always been rooted in passion, focus, and a relentless pursuit of excellence,” he says. “I’ve never been driven solely by profit or business metrics. I believe in hiring great talent, trusting them, and pushing boundaries because innovation doesn’t come from playing it safe.”
His experience isn’t limited to Canada. Ibrahim has worked in the US and UAE, which shaped his global perspective and comfort with adapting to different markets. He thrives on risk, viewing setbacks as stepping stones to progress.
