Roma Rana’s journey in occupational health and safety is marked by passion, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Originally from India, she moved to Canada to pursue postgraduate studies in Occupational Health and Safety Management in 2017, driven by a desire to create safer, more resilient workplaces. Over the past six years, she has established herself as a trusted expert in the field, with a strong commitment to ensuring that every worker returns home safe each day.
Currently an Occupational Health and Safety Advisor with CRH Canada’s Materials Group, Roma has demonstrated a proactive approach to safety throughout her career. Throughout her three-year tenure at Dufferin Construction, she successfully oversaw safety on major projects, instilling a strong safety culture in high-risk environments. This experience sharpened her leadership skills and expertise in risk mitigation. In her role, she prioritizes the well-being of each employee, ensuring they return home safely to their families after every shift. Her approach is characterized by firmness, fairness, and consistency, which fosters a secure and productive work environment. She embodies the spirit of an entrepreneur, continually striving to improve and evolve into the best version of herself each day. Her commitment to both her team and personal growth sets a commendable example within the organization. Roma’s contributions to safety have been widely recognized. In 2024, she was Awarded as an Emerging Leader by the Canadian Association of Women in Safety (CAWIC) and received the Young Achiever Award from Canadian Occupational Safety publications. As a panellist at the #PROTECTHER Symposium with OHS Canada, she inspired over 800 global participants, advocating for women’s empowerment in safety leadership. By fostering a shared commitment to safety, we can create an environment where employees feel valued and empowered to contribute towards our collective goal of workplace safety.
