“No matter how many clients I have, I make sure to call each one personally every quarter. It’s a chance to not only update them on their portfolio, but also check on how they’re doing personally”

Lina Savcheva has been a dedicated leader in health, safety, and environment (HSE) for over a decade, known for her expertise and mentorship in the field. She graduated in 2012 with a degree in architectural technology and construction management from Copenhagen, Denmark, with a focus on safety. Her career began as a safety coordinator on Europe’s largest subway expansion, marking the beginning of her extensive involvement in major infrastructure projects.
In 2014, Savcheva moved to Canada to broaden her knowledge of deep foundations and safety. She joined Deep Foundations in 2015, a company later acquired by GFL Infrastructure and now part of Green Infrastructure Partners (GIP). Her leadership and technical proficiency earned her a managerial role in 2019, where she oversaw the shoring and foundations department and achieved her National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification. By 2020, she expanded her scope of responsibility to lead GIP’s excavation division.
Savcheva’s career reached a new milestone in 2022 when she was promoted to director of HSE at GIP, where she managed Ontario’s major projects. She was also recognized as an Emerging Leader at the CSPN Women in Leadership Summit. In 2023, she earned her gold seal as a construction safety practitioner and a leadership certificate from Waterloo University.
Her career spans significant contributions to six subway projects, the Toronto Waterfront Redevelopment, the Port Hope Restoration, and major highway expansions across Ontario. Savcheva’s expertise and commitment to safety continue to have a lasting impact on the HSE field, driving safety improvements and infrastructure development across the region.
