“No matter how many clients I have, I make sure to call each one personally every quarter. It’s a chance to not only update them on their portfolio, but also check on how they’re doing personally”

Committing to professional growth
“When I started in HSE over a decade ago, I immersed myself in every aspect of HSE, earning advanced certifications and building technical expertise. I sought out opportunities to lead projects, mentor others, and take on increasing responsibilities, which helped grow my leadership skills and strategic mindset,” she comments. “Facing challenges in high-pressure industries taught me resilience and adaptability, while collaborating with diverse teams sharpened my ability to communicate, influence, and drive change.”
Implementing Jacobs’ BeyondZero® philosophy, which ensures the health, safety, and security of the company's people and the environment, across a diverse and complex portfolio of projects in Canada stands out for Caufield as a landmark achievement.
“I’ve introduced innovative approaches to embedding safety into every stage of project execution. This includes aligning safety strategies with operational goals and fostering collaboration among leadership teams and clients.”
Being a woman in a male-dominated industry has been challenging but Caufield highlights its advantages.
“My perspective as a woman has allowed me to approach safety with a focus on collaboration, communication, and empathy—qualities that foster trust and drive meaningful cultural change,” she says. “Breaking barriers in these industries has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career, and I am proud to inspire and mentor others as they pursue their place in safety and leadership.”
Despite achieving so much, Caufield is keen to continue making an impact.
She strives for continuous growth, recognizing that true progress in safety is achieved through collaborative teamwork and shared goals.
“My targets include achieving measurable reductions in incidents, driving engagement with safety programs, and solidifying Jacobs’ position as a global leader in safety innovation and culture transformation.”
