Christina Fales entered the food services and hospitality industry in 2008 as a regional trainer in occupational health and safety and food safety. With a background in public health, she has dedicated her career to ensuring that food service environments and workplaces meet the highest standards of safety. She demonstrates that while the specific hazards and methods for addressing them may differ, the foundational safety concepts – such as risk management, training, compliance, and continuous improvement – remain consistent across industries. Her career journey has found that the key to successful safety management is adapting these core concepts to the unique challenges of each field.
Fales’ passion about safety comes from a deep concern for the well-being of others. She began her career working in the non-profit sector and then pivoted to the safety field, believing that a career in safety can have a profound impact on someone’s life. Every time you prevent an accident or mitigate a risk, you are making a tangible difference in someone’s well-being – and sometimes even saving lives.
Based in Mississauga, Ontario, Fales enjoys gardening and hiking with her dog.
