Tsitsi Pena has a reputation for having a unique approach to H&S that is well received by audiences of varying levels within several organizations, from the shop floor to the executive team. She leads a small team as the principal for Journey to Zero, Safety Solutions Inc., where their mission is to “help you build an injury-free legacy” at home, at work and everywhere in between.
Pena is a practising Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and most recently a Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC)
with a graduate-level degree in Public Health - Occupational and Environmental Health. She prides herself on being an alumnus of both the University of Waterloo and the University of Toronto.
Pena is passionate about giving back. In 2022, Journey to Zero launched the Mwana Wa’Mai Scholarship, awarded annually to a Canadian post-secondary student of African descent. Additionally, after participating in the Steps for Life walk in 2022, she has led Journey to Zero to be a community sponsor for the 2023 walk with plans for long-term involvement.
Pena is keen on educating the future generation of H&S leaders and has done so through mentorship and by teaching safety courses at both Durham College and Conestoga College.
