As director of safety for Venturis Capital, Ashley Mckie personifies dedication to promoting a safety-first culture for more than 1,200 employees in over 60 branches across North America. Over the past nine years, she has been instrumental in providing consistency in messaging, structuring systems, growing the safety programs of the organization and successfully spearheading COR certifications in three provinces. Her role covers all equipment dealerships and companies within Venturis Capital, including Leavitt Machinery and several regional dealerships across Canada and the US.
Mckie’s dedication to her personal development is evident from her achievement of both her CRSP and CHSC designations and her active participation in the safety community, where she serves as a volunteer with the CSSE.
Her dedication to safety is evident in her proactive, inclusive, calm, and patient approach to educating employees and working with managers to roll out new programs. She creates an environment to encourage emerging leaders within her department and across the organization with active coaching and mentoring. Her colleagues commend her as someone who truly cares about the safety, health, and well-being of everyone within the company and the customers they serve.
