Since its founding in 1901, BSI Group has been dedicated to making a positive impact on society. The organization’s journey began with the development of the first standard for steel sections, laying the groundwork for a legacy that now extends to emerging fields like nanotechnology.
Over the decades, particularly from the 1970s onward, BSI has played a pivotal role in shaping many of the world’s most influential management system standards. Its commitment to societal progress is reflected in three transformative standards that continue to define organizational excellence: the ISO 9000 series for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management, and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety.
In 1991, BSI expanded its reach with the establishment of BSI Americas, furthering its mission across new regions. Today, organizations around the globe turn to BSI’s century-plus of expertise, trusting the group to help raise standards and accelerate progress toward a more sustainable future.
