John is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Green Infrastructure Partners(GIP), one of Canada’s largest and most diversified infrastructure companies. John is well known in the road construction industry. He brings deep operational knowledge from his 30 years of experience in increasingly senior roles at Ash Grove Cement Co./CRH Canada/Dufferin Construction, most recently as Senior Vice President. John is charged with ensuring GIP’s continued focus on maximizing the value of the knowledge base of our best-in-class employees, our strong market presence as a leading service provider to both government and retail customers across Canada and our exceptional asset base. John is a strong advocate of sustainable construction and helps to steer the industry to adopt more sustainable construction practices. He actively fosters the triple bottom line principles – value creation, sustainable environmental performance, and social responsibility – to ensure there is a balance between stable economic growth, continual social progress, and preservation of the environment.

Tom Ayres is TSSA’s vice president and general counsel, responsible for providing legal services and the overall administration of the organization’s legal team. He provides counsel for a wide range of litigation in the areas of public safety and consumer protection, prosecuting offences under the legislation administered by TSSA and representing TSSA at judicial review proceedings, statutory appeals, and administrative tribunals.
Before joining TSSA in 1996, Ayres was legal counsel for the Technical Standards Division at the Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relations. He was the project lead in the creation of the Technical Standards and Safety Act and its 17 associated regulations. He also holds responsibility for TSSA’s outcome-based regulatory strategy.
Ayres received his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Ontario and was called to the bar in 1988. He also holds a BA in political science.

Dan Brazier, CPA, CA, is TSSA’s CFO. He joined the organization in December 2018.
Brazier is a seasoned corporate finance executive with extensive experience in financial management, strategy development, and implementation. He performed interim management and consulting roles, most recently with the Ontario Securities Commission and Moneris, after a career comprising a range of executive finance roles in Canada and internationally with CIBC, Standard Chartered Bank, and UBS.

Alexandra Campbell joined TSSA as vice president, communications and stakeholder relations, in 2019 and has responsibility for effective education and outreach on public safety matters, meaningful engagement with stakeholders, and ensuring transparency and value in communications with regulated parties and the public.
Campbell has extensive experience as a leader in strategic communications, stakeholder and media relations, and marketing. For over 20 years, she has worked for government and government agencies at the provincial level in public policy and corporate affairs.
Campbell came to TSSA from the Independent Electricity System Operator. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo.

Laura Desjardins joined TSSA as vice president, human resources, in January 2019. She has held executive positions in human resources in a number of organizations, including Bell Canada Enterprises and Hewlett-Packard most recently.
Desjardins has a strong track record of supporting organizations in strengthening their cultures, developing HR solutions that are both impactful and customer-oriented, and implementing training programs to support employee development and advancement.

Nashir Jiwani joined TSSA as interim vice president, operations, in February 2020. After a brief departure, he returned to the role in August 2021. Leading the largest single team in the organization, Jiwani oversees the ongoing development of processes, standard operating procedures, methodologies, controls, and overall best practices to enhance TSSA’s core capabilities and achieve operational efficiencies.
An accomplished senior executive, Jiwani was formerly VP of operations, Americas, at CSA Group; COO and construction manager at Aliya’s Foods; VP of operations at Hartmann North America; and managing director at DuPont Canada.
Jiwani holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering degree from McGill University, an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the Schulich School of Business at York University, and a Chartered Director designation from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University.

Kevin Padley joined GDI in February 2021 as senior vice president of Integrated Facility Services, responsible for leading, managing and growing GDI’s integrated facility services. He is a key member of the senior management team and is based in the Toronto office. Prior to joining GDI, he spent the last 10 years with JLL, where he was responsible for supporting and developing integrated facility management solutions in North America. He excels in providing client solutions, management, team building and strategic planning. He has over 25 years of experience in the commercial real estate and facility management industries.

Mike Boomrod has served as the president of the GDI’s janitorial USA business segment since July 2020. From 2013 to 2020, he occupied successive roles as president, Midwest and regional president for the company’s US operating subsidiary. Prior to joining GDI, Boomrod started his career in the facility services industry as director of operations at Omni Facility Services, working alongside his father, Ahmed, prior to Omni’s merger with the company’s US entity in 2014. Boomrod is based in the Southfield, Michigan office. He received his BA in Business Management from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
